What You Need To know

Available to buy since early 2023, there are eight varieties of this six-seater, half-ton pickup truck, with a great choice of engines, boxes, and cabs. There is also the option for upgrades to make the most of rugged driving.

The Sierra 1500 competes well in the utility section, with a towing capacity of a whopping 13,200 pounds. There’s a choice of four engines, making it a powerful yet lightweight pick-up that provides a smooth drive on challenging roads.

What’s New?

A complete revamp in 2022 led to significant improvements for this fourth-generation model. The new AT4XAEV Edition now has better off-road equipment, steel front and rear bumpers, and extra skid plates to help for protection. It also has 18-inch AEV Salta wheels with a black, glossy finish plus 33-inch Wrangler tires for enhanced grip and style. The Safety Plus package is now provided as standard on the AT4 trim.

Engines and Transmission

Four possible engines start with the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder with 420 pound-feet of torque and an impressive 310 horsepower. The 355-hp 5.3-liter V8, 420-hp 6.2-liter V8, or the diesel six-cylinder that has 460 pound-feet of torque, all help to improve its strength.

Performance

The truck does well in the agility stakes, providing a smooth drive, and is able to tackle rocky off-roads easily. It also has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds and braking is prompt, creating a safe and reliable vehicle. A Traction Select system provides added wheel spin and smooth control.

Comfort

You can purchase the Sierra 1500 as a single, a double, or a four-door crew cab, and can choose beds from 5.8 feet to 8.2. The premium interior of the Denali Ultimate boasts an upgrade of more sleek leather and wood trim that both create a stylish finish and are complemented by the massage function and the 16-way power adjustments on the front seats.

Technology

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow for a hands-free smartphone connection. There is Driver-Assist technology galore, with exterior cameras to help you park this mammoth truck and a rear cross-traffic warning to keep you safe when reversing.

Another perk is the Adaptive Cruise Control, with the option of Super Cruise on the top-of-the-range Denali Ultimate trim. An easy-to-use 13.4-inch touchscreen provides maps and navigation information, and voice recognition allows you to alter the climate and more.
