A Closer Look at the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 LTD

The GMC Sierra 1500 LTD is rolling out of the factory as a 2022 model, but the LTD may look familiar to some truck lovers. It's a continuation of the 2021 Sierra 1500 that will fill a production gap until the new Sierra model can be manufactured. This light-duty pickup truck is sold in six different trim levels and carries over many of the features of the 2021 Sierra, with a few updates. more Basics About the GMC Sierra 1500 LTD This truck is a full-sized pickup truck that is available in four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. Six trim levels are available: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, and Denali. Depending upon the trim level, this truck can be equipped with a Turbo 2.7L I4 (Gas), 5.3L L84 V8, 6.2L L87 V8, or 3.0 LM2 Duramax I6 Diesel engine. Like many pickup trucks, the 1500 LTD is available in regular cab, double cab, or crew cab configurations with 8-foot, 6.5-foot, or 5.6-foot beds. A carbon-fiber bed, which is lighter and tougher than steel, is available at the AT4 and Denali trim levels. Called "Carbon Pro Edition," this is a feature you won't find on any other truck model. New Features for 2022 While the Sierra 1500 LTD is mostly a carryover of the 2021 Sierra, there are some changes to note. The base trim is called Pro for the 2022 release, while it was called 1SA in the 20221 lineup. Rear heated seats are now available in the SLT, AT4, and Denali trim levels. The 5.3L V8 engine is no longer available and FlexFuel capability is therefore not available either. Technology and Infotainment All six trim levels of the Sierra 1500 LTD offer a driver display screen and infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto compatibility. The Pro trim base model comes equipped with a 3.5-inch driver display screen and a 7-inch infotainment screen, and those sizes are upgraded to 4.2 inches and 8 inches, respectively, with the SLE trim. Is Your Car AC Not Working? Visit Your Chevy GMC Dealer Today

Is your car AC not working? There could be many reasons why an air conditioner malfunctions, but the good news is that it doesn't have to be a complicated repair at your Chevy and GMC dealer. Here are a few signs and recommendations from your friendly Chevy dealer. more Is Your Car AC Not Working? Visit Your Chevy Dealer and GMC Dealer Today Air Conditioner Leaks AC leaks underneath the front of the car or in the interior are a sign that your air conditioning is on the fritz. Blockages or an improperly attached drain line can cause this problem. This problem can also happen when you have a dirty air filter. The lack of airflow through the filter will cause the air conditioner's evaporator coils to freeze, causing water to overflow from the condensate drain. Air From the Vents Is Hot If the air from the vents is hot or warm, then there's a good chance the AC system is the problem. If this is the case, it could mean that your compressor needs to be replaced or an issue with your refrigerant lines. The Car Is Not Cooling Down If you have cold air coming from the vents but feel like it's not getting cooler inside the car, your compressor likely has a problem. It could also be a clogged filter, a defective fan, or your AC system may need a recharge. Fan Not Blowing If the fan doesn't blow at all (or blows very slowly), it could mean that there's a clog somewhere in the system or a blown fuse. A blown fuse will prevent the fan and other components from working properly. A malfunctioning fan or compressor may also cause blown fuses and an air conditioner that doesn't work at all. These defective parts will cause the AC system not to work or to only work for a short while. Electrical Issues Electrical issues can also cause AC problems. Loose connections, failed switches, and blown fuses are also reasons an AC system can stop working. Annual AC Check Stop by your Toyota dealer for a free air conditioning system checkup! Our certified technicians will ensure everything is working properly; if it isn't, we'll let you know what needs to be replaced and how much it will cost. Even if you're not having any problems with your air conditioning right now, we recommend you have an AC check every year. This way, you can head off any problems in advance. If your car's air conditioning isn't working correctly, schedule a service appointment at Opequon Motors for help. We can make sure that your vehicle is running at peak performance and will get you back on the road quickly.

Does Your Cadillac or GMC Vehicle Need a Radiator Repair?

Your radiator is the heart of your engine's efficient cooling system. Your engine generates a large amount of heat. If this heat isn't removed, it will build up and damage your engine. The radiator is the place where this heat is efficiently removed. A radiator can get damaged or fail, and you'll need a radiator repair. As your GM dealer, we repair or replace it for you. These are a few signs that your radiator has a problem. more Signs You Need a Radiator Repair at Your Chevy Dealer Engine Temperature Gauge Your temperature gauge will rise as you accelerate, and you'll notice that it will then fall and maintain its temperature. When your engine reaches a pre-set point, liquid coolant is released into your engine. This coolant cools the engine by passing through it and absorbing heat as it moves. This now hot coolant is pumped into the radiator. In the radiator, a heat exchange takes place between the hot coolant and the cooler outside air. The coolant temperature will drop, and it's drawn out of the radiator to recycle through the system again. If your engine temperature rises but shows no signs of going down again, there's a problem with your cooling system. We advise calling us ASAP so our technicians can find and repair the problem. Leaking Coolant As we've seen, coolant is an essential part of your cooling system. If your coolant level drops, this will cause your engine temperature to rise. Coolant isn't consumed in your engine, so a lack of coolant must be caused by a leak. Coolant usually leaks out of your car and leaves stains on the ground underneath your car. Pink, yellow, green, or blue liquid under your car is a definite coolant leak. Sometimes, coolant can leak into other parts of your engine, and this can cause additional problems. If you see thick white exhaust smoke, this means water is entering your exhaust system. Coolant is a mix of antifreeze and water, and it's a primary culprit for the smoke. This problem is usually caused by a damaged head gasket, which is allowing coolant to mix with other parts of your engine. Worn Hoses and Clamps Coolant enters and exits your radiator via a pair of thick rubber hoses. The hose at the top of the radiator brings hot coolant into the radiator, and the hose at the bottom is where the coolant flows out of the radiator. These hoses are designed to withstand hot coolant at over 280 F, and they're securely attached to the radiator by tight clamps. During your routine services, we check the hoses and clamps for signs of damage or wear. If these components haven't been recently checked, they may start to fail. The clamps can loosen, and the rubber hoses could develop cracks. Any problem with the hoses or clamps can create a coolant leak and increase your engine temperature. If your engine temperature is rising for no apparent reason, call our service department right away at Opequon Motors.
