Air Conditioner Leaks

AC leaks underneath the front of the car or in the interior are a sign that your air conditioning is on the fritz. Blockages or an improperly attached drain line can cause this problem. This problem can also happen when you have a dirty air filter. The lack of airflow through the filter will cause the air conditioner’s evaporator coils to freeze, causing water to overflow from the condensate drain.

Air From the Vents Is Hot

If the air from the vents is hot or warm, then there’s a good chance the AC system is the problem. If this is the case, it could mean that your compressor needs to be replaced or an issue with your refrigerant lines.

The Car Is Not Cooling Down

If you have cold air coming from the vents but feel like it’s not getting cooler inside the car, your compressor likely has a problem. It could also be a clogged filter, a defective fan, or your AC system may need a recharge.

Fan Not Blowing

If the fan doesn’t blow at all (or blows very slowly), it could mean that there’s a clog somewhere in the system or a blown fuse. A blown fuse will prevent the fan and other components from working properly.

A malfunctioning fan or compressor may also cause blown fuses and an air conditioner that doesn’t work at all. These defective parts will cause the AC system not to work or to only work for a short while.

Electrical Issues

Electrical issues can also cause AC problems. Loose connections, failed switches, and blown fuses are also reasons an AC system can stop working.
